Virtually All Police Agree: You Should Defend Yourself
October 7, 2018
The 30th Annual Survey from the National Association of Chiefs of Police has come out again in support of armed self-defense. This is, of course, in line with the ample support from a 2013 survey of law enforcement officers who spend their days dealing with violent crime day in and day out. The consensus of professionals charged with the difficult job of keeping us safe is that we should arm ourselves.
The Help50 initiative has several goals: to arm women most vulnerable to violent crime, to provide sufficient training and encouragement for them to defend themselves and their homes, and to neutralize the hurdles to gun ownership that state and federal governments place in their way. Backed by a consensus among the law enforcement industry and mountains of empirical evidence, we seek to arm women to make America safer and to prevent future tragedies.
